Salon Hype opened in November 2006 with the vision of bringing urban sensibilities to a suburan clientele left wanting for A-list stylists, spa services that are second to none, and a vibe that feels downtown, but prices that clearly are not.

Ross and Carissa Bartolomei's Salon Hype is dedicated to the art and science of cutting hair, fabulous nails, and state-of-the art skin care. As a team they have identified what's been missing from west suburban salons, and were inspired by the iconic phrase, "if you build it they will come."

Located at 917 Hillgrove Avenue in the fashionable West End business district of La Grange, the 3,000-square-foot salon with soaring 26-foot ceilings is bathed in sunlight. Clients of the nail spa on the second floor are treated to balcony seating overlooking the salon below. Two treatment rooms with a private waiting area are located behind the pedicure stations.

The menu of spa services features the incomparable French Pevonia Botanica line of skin treatments for the face and body. With 18 chairs to accommodate stylists and colorists, Salon Hype is passionate about hair. In two short years Ross and his hand-picked roster of stylists have gained a loyal following from all over Chicagoland who don't think twice about making the trip. Salon Hype is only a 20 minute drive from Chicago's Loop.

Having established his name as the go-to stylist on movie sets, and at salons in Chicago's Gold Coast for nearly 20 years, Ross is styling genius. He has yet to find a head of hair he can't tame, transform, update or make glamorous, whether it's thick, curly, stick-straight, or damaged and unruly hair.

Ross' extraordinary eye for shape and color has earned him recognition in local publications as well as in Allure Magazine, who named him the "Hair Doctor." In addition, he has a growing list of clients who travel from across the country to have him precision-cut, color and style their custom-made, human-hair wigs. These wigs are an attractive choice for those facing the devastating effects of Alopecia.

With a "dream team" of stylists, a strong emphasis on client service, and its sleek, modern look, Salon Hype is the Bartolomeis' vision come true.
